People say sticks and stones will break your bones, but words will never hurt. That's such a lie! What's the worst comment you have ever seen? I want to know the most vile comments you have received and seen online and what site you saw them. What was the publishers response?

Why would you want to know something like that?
I think that things like that are better left unknown.
I've seen some vile stuff out there.
The poor young woman who killed herself with an OD
down the street from Paula Abdul's house in her car
had some terrible stuff written about her/to her on her MySpace Blog
even after she was dead.
One post mentioned sodomy and necrophilia.
Get the picture? I'm not taking it any further than that.
The people who liked her and supported her were stirred to an absolute fury.
I was unable to find a contact email to report the perp.
I recommend that you close this thread while you're ahaead.

The famously awful comment that springs to mind is the awful treatment of Kathy Sierra that led to her exiting public life & halting all her blogging activities a couple of years back. While it was probably intended as a joke, it *scared* Kathy - she interpreted it as a thinly veiled death threat, and not wanting to take chances, ceased blogging. I think that was a damned shame & a real pity because I used to really enjoy her "Creating Passionate Users" blog.
